INTRODUCTION
The main purpose of this report is to highlight the main activities of the last day of the four-day-long school trip that ended with a hike to Rogla which was organized by the CŠOD Gorenje. It focuses on the purpose and organisation of the trip and provides some suggestions and comments. It is written by one of the participants on request of English teacher.
PURPOSE
The aim of this hike was to explore the parts of Slovenia that students from Gorenjska rarely see. Students were given the opportunity to walk throug nature and learn new things. Furthermore, the students got to exercise in the nature instead of indoors.
ORGANISATION
The hike was held on a school day; on September 3, and was organised by CŠOD Gorenje on the initiative of Gimnazija Jesenice since the school trip is a part of a school curriculum. Second year students, teachers and three CŠOD members of staff took part on the trip. Transport was organised by Gimnazija Jesenice. The bus picked up the students at the CŠOD facilities at 9 am and took them to Rogla where they started the hike. After hiking for two hours, they arrived at Lovrenc Lakes where they had lunch and rested. While walking beside lakes, a short history of the lakes was provided. Shortly after, students headed back to Rogla, returning to CŠOD in early afternoon.
SUGGESTIONS
I would suggest more time for students to explore natural sights at Rogla , since they were rather pressed with time and could not enjoy the trip properly.
COMMENTS
On the whole, the hike was well organised and enthralling, although it was a bit long and tiring. Furthermore, I would also like to propose a longer break to give students some more free time. All in all, the day was a great success.
