Something is wrong with our planet Earth and in my opinion, teenagers do not understand how serious it is. Although it has not been established conclusively, global warming is putting us all at risk. The real question is whether or not we are willing to take action—so what can we really do to help?

To begin with, you can help the environment by simply volunteering in a community clean up group, or by attending a fundraising event. If you are not up to it, you can still help with simple everyday actions such as taking shorter showers, turning the lights off, buying eco friendly products and donating old clothes, toys and electronics.

Another major issue is traffic congestion caused by petrol-burning vehicles; instead, you could walk, cycle, or use public transportation, minimizing the amount of gases emitted into the atmosphere.

Consume more plant-based foods, as they tend to produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions and waste less of it. Throwing food away wastes the resources and energy that went into growing, producing, packaging, and transporting it.

Make sure you recycle. It decreases the need for raw material gathering, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and prevents pollution, among other things. We can help maintain the environment clean and our natural resources safe by improving our recycling habits.

And, most importantly, don’t be afraid to speak up! The most effective method to make a difference is to express your concerns. Whether it’s simply telling friends and family, sharing information on social media, or writing an article, spreading awareness is necessary to truly make a change.

In conclusion, if we want the best for ourselves, we should do everything we can to limit pollution and aid in the fight against global warming.  Together we can make a difference!
