REPORT ON GIMJES 2nd YEAR STUDENTS FIELD TRIP TO CELJE

INTRODUCTION
This report presents the field trip to Celje, organised as a compulsory part of the      Gimjes 2nd year students camp. It focuses on the purpose, organisation and activities of the trip and provides personal opinions and suggestions. It is written by one of the participants on request of the ITS English teacher.
PURPOSE
The main purpose of the trip was to learn about the history of the city and, therefore, to get the mandatory lessons that school requires. In addition, students were asked to take pictures and videos through the trip for the subject ITS.
ORGANISATION
The trip was organised one day before the start of the school year; on the 31st of August. Transportation was organised from school to Celje and students were required to take a Covid test the morning of the trip. The class teachers along with the music teacher accompanied 60 students. The arrival  to the CŠOD was in the evening.
ACTIVITIES
Firstly, there was a visit to the cave Pekel where the guide led the students and told many stories and legends. This was followed by a guided tour of the Celje castle, where students had time to walk through it by themselves, to take pictures and videos. Lastly, a tour of the city that lasted for about an hour and a half before the bus picked the students up, and took them to the final destination.
SUGGESTIONS
I would suggest not starting the trip a day before the start of the school year. All of the participants were tired and some even upset at the fact that they had to start school before everyone else.
COMMENTS
The trip was well organised and interesting. At first the students were not paying attention, but later in the day everyone got involved in the conversations with the guides and teachers. It was well sectioned for students to learn something new and simultaneously to have some free time to explore by themselves.
